Bitcoin Bottom Is In, Says Mow, Despite Analyst Doubt
Samson Mow, a prominent bitcoin advocate, asserts that the cryptocurrency has already hit its market bottom, a sentiment that clashes with the views of several financial analysts. Mow's conviction stems from his belief that the traditional four-year halving cycle has accelerated significantly. This acceleration, he argues, makes historical cycle comparisons less reliable for predicting future price movements. Mow highlighted that an all-time high (ATH) was reached a remarkable 37 days before the April 2024 halving. He contends that this early ATH is clear evidence of an accelerated cycle, challenging those who rigidly adhere to historical patterns. In an X post on Sunday, Mow remarked, "I find it incredibly interesting how some people are so certain that the bottom is coming in four months because of ‘cycles.’ But we had an ATH 37 days before the halving, so it would seem even if you believe in cycles, you should reason out that the cycles accelerated. The bottom is in." Interestingly, Mow isn't alone in suggesting a shift in bitcoin's typical four-year cycle. Following the aforementioned ATH before the April 2024 halving, some analysts observed that the increasing institutional demand, notably driven by the introduction of U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs, could be altering established price patterns. However, others remain cautious, stating it's premature to definitively declare a change in the cycle. Conversely, many analysts maintain a more bearish outlook. They point to various technical indicators as signs that further downside for bitcoin is probable. These indicators often include bear crosses in long-term moving averages and the 200-week moving average. Forecasts for a potential bottom vary widely, with some experts predicting a limited decline, while others anticipate bitcoin could fall into the £32,000 to £44,000 ($40,000 to $55,000) range later in the year before a stable low is established. For instance, CoinDesk market analyst Omkar Godbole recently suggested that, according to a historically accurate contrarian indicator, further declines might be minimal. However, the diverging opinions underscore the ongoing debate and uncertainty within the crypto market regarding bitcoin's next significant price movement. Samson Mow, known for his £800,000 ($1 million) bitcoin prediction and involvement in El Salvador's bitcoin initiatives, stands firm in his accelerated cycle theory, advocating for a new understanding of bitcoin's market dynamics.
