Aave & Solana Lead Crypto Rally Amid Bitcoin Stability
Leading cryptocurrencies like Aave and Solana ecosystem tokens are experiencing a significant rebound, even as Bitcoin maintains stability around the £60,000 mark. This surge is largely driven by renewed momentum within the Solana network, particularly from a substantial increase in tokenised stock trading activity. Bitcoin, following a period of sell-offs, has found solid ground near £60,000. However, the most impressive gains have been observed in the decentralised finance (DeFi) sector and the broader Solana ecosystem. Aave's native token saw a remarkable 19% jump. This follows a CoinDesk report detailing crypto exchange Kraken's potential strategic investment in the lending protocol, which could involve acquiring a 15% stake valued at £385 million. Aave founder Stani Kulechov, while refuting suggestions of a heavily discounted asset sale via X (formerly Twitter), reassured holders that all protocol revenues, currently amounting to an annualised £134 million, will flow to the Aave Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO) and ultimately benefit AAVE token holders under their newly adopted "Aave Will Win" framework. Kulechov also hinted at an upcoming "Aavenomics 3.0" redesign, set to include an automated token buyback mechanism. The Solana blockchain, a layer-1 network renowned for its high speed, and its associated ecosystem have also outperformed the market. SOL itself climbed almost 10%. Trading activity involving tokenised stocks on the Solana network has seen an exponential rise, exceeding £2.5 billion in weekly volume, which is a tenfold increase from the previous month, according to RWA.xyz. This performance establishes Solana as a dominant force in tokenised equity trading, holding over 80% of the market share across all blockchains. This surge in activity has significantly boosted several Solana DeFi tokens, particularly those linked to trading infrastructure protocols. Jito (JTO), which manages Solana's largest liquid staking protocol and provides crucial infrastructure for validators to maximise rewards, saw its token soar by 30%. Jito also recently launched a new trading platform. Tokens for Solana-based decentralised exchanges like Raydium (RAY) and Meteora (MET) also experienced gains of around 7%, further highlighting the robust growth and increasing adoption within the Solana ecosystem.
